چکیده
Electrophoresis is the main metod for separating large polyelectrolyte molecules, primarily used on DNA, in biochemistry and medicine research. An overwiev of the models of physical mechanisms that are behind this phenomena will be presented. The prominent role is taken by reptation mechanisms, by which large exible polyelectrolytes thread their way through the pores of the gel matrix. There are also other approaches that have their own advantages and disadvantages. Next to gel media, we also know di¤erent kind of electrophoresis technics, such as capilary electrophoresis or "electrophoresis on chips".

A Simpler and Faster Version of Two-Dimensional Gel Electrophoresis Using Vertical, Mini SDS-PAGE Apparatus
We have modified one of the most useful methods of protein separation; namely, two dimensional gel electrophoresis (2-DE). This modified version of 2-DE is not only simpler and easier but also faster than all the currently available methods. In this method, isoelectric focusing is carried out in the first dimension using a vertical sodium dodecyl sulfate polyacrylamide gel electrop...

Using a Temperature Gradient against the Time in Polyacrylamide Gel Electrophoresis May Eliminate the Need for Stacking Gels
Background and Objectives: Making stacking gels for polyacrylamide gels in the laboratory by conventional methods is laborious and time consuming. Considering the role of temperature in polyacrylamide gels with respect to electrical resistance and viscosity, we assumed that decreasing the temperature would cause an increase in electrical resistance and viscosity. Ultimately, a downward tempera...
